Outing #16 update

Fellow Hibernians,
We were back at the golf course formerly known as Hubbard Heights, where we competed in the always popular Irish Rumble. Sure the fairways were rock hard, and the grass that was there was thin at best, but some of our drives rolled really far, so there’s that.

The Winners:

Irish Rumble:  88 pointsCyril Carroll  $100Noel McQuillan  $100Liam Hickey  $100Mark Ward  $100

Singles:Cyril Carroll  38 points

Closest to the pin

Third hole, Andrew Butterworth $50

Ninth hole, Andrew Butterworth $50

Fifteenth hole, no Hibernian hit the green  $0.00

Seventeenth hole, Moira Hickey  $50

Liam Hickey is back (finally) in the money. Good for you, Liam.  There was some speculation that Hickey had retired from golf to spend more time on his fledgling music career, but as you can see, he’s still at it.
Here is the winning team.

Outdoing Liam was his wife Moira, who, all by herself, won closest to the pin on seventeen.

Moira also won the championship of the women’s club at Mosholu golf in the Bronx last week.  Congratulations, Moira.

Team Zody’s, seen below, also competed in the rumble, but they added a twist. Cindy (in the red shirt) is a ranger at Brennan, and she was working on the day of the rumble. Since she had to be there anyway, the boys were able talk her into spending the afternoon driving along with their foursome. So, for eighteen holes the team had their own spotter. Their ingenuity didn’t pay off, as they finished well out of the money, but still, a clever idea.

This Sunday at Sterling, the final three big titles will be decided.
Will Jarleth Carroll hold on to his tight lead against the field in the player of the year battle?

Who will come out on top as Craig Mahler and Declan Docherty slug it out in the second and final round of the Club Championship?

And who will secure the Memorial Cup, Dermot Flynn or Omar Zabian?
See you there.
