We had another great day of golf last Saturday at Hubbard. In addition to playing the quarter-final round of the club championship, we all competed in the President’s Day event where the cash awards, and the ball breaking, were doubled.

In the battle of lanky lefties, PJ Tynan defeated Pascal Doran 3 and 2.
With a chip-in on eighteen, Martin King defeated Eric McDonald 2 and 1.
Derek Williams shot a 78, defeating Noel Connolly 5 and 4.
Cathal Brady, the Cavan Kid, defeated The Galway Gangster, Sean Collins 4 and 3.
The big winner of the day was Derek Williams. In addition to winning his match, and becoming the new El Presidente (sorry Omar) he took home $500 in winnings.
Our next outing is this Saturday at Grassy Hills. The last time we played at Grassy Hills the management there tried to convince us that the bar was closed. As you can imagine, that did not go over well with some of the thirstier members of our club. See you then.
