In the forty year history of the HGA we have never had back to back winners of the Club Championship, and this year will be no exception. Yes, the reign of the Little Accountant That Could is over. Our young champion Conor McDounough was defeated in a tough match by the cagey veteran Noel Connolly. Although Conor didn’t make it back to the finals this season, he does hold onto the trophy for a few more months, with the fame, endorsement deals and all of the groupies that come with it.
Connolly moves on to the sweet sixteen.
Our next outing is this Sunday, the 23rd, back at the friendly confines of E. Jerry Brennan. See you then.
