Outing 7 Update

Fellow Hibernians,

Our last outing was at Phillip J. Rotella, which was a new course for many of us.  The day started out soggy, and ended up sticky, but despite the conditions the boys put up some impressive numbers. The Winners:

Brendan Brady 45 points, $200.

Eric McDonald  44 points, $150.

Ronan McDonough 43 points,  $100.

(Five Hibernians scored more than 40 points. That’s a lot.)

Closest to the Pin:

Third hole, Cathal Brady 6’6″

          and Pascal Doran 7’9”    $50

Eighth hole Dennis Guilfoyle 5’3”  $50

Twelfth hole Pascal Doran 9’4”  $50

Seventeenth hole Noel McNamara 7’6”  $50

Low Gross:

Eric McDonald 75, $20

As you can see, we have listed two golfers as being closest to the pin on the third hole. Cathal Brady was closest to the pin, but Pascal Doran won the money. How could that be?  Well, it turns out that young Brady decided it would be wise to save the $20 and not compete for any prize money. When asked about this strategy Cathal grumbled “I never win shite, so why blow the $20”. Yes, fellow Hibernians, Cathal is from Cavan.

After the play at Rotella, our Club Championship is down to twenty golfers, including six former champions. Now things get interesting.

See you all this Saturday at Putnam for the next round of the Club Championship, and other shenanigans.
